The global dialogue on migration is frequently stalled due to contradictory interests and positions between the countries of the North (Europe and North America) and those of the South. However, these positions do not take into account changes in migration profiles of countries, which can be departure, transit and receiving countries. Can multilateralism break with the North-South paradigm? Moreover, what is the added value of non-state actors (diaspora, NGOs, companies) or infra-state actors (local authorities) in the global governance of migration?

Africa is a diverse, dynamic and growing continent, making noticeable progress in many areas including democratic rule, economic growth and conflict resolution, but simultaneously facing formidable challenges to its development and sustainability. 

Mohammed Loulichki is the main speaker of Session 2 on “The changing global order and Africa’s place in it." This session is taking place in the context of a think tank workshop, “At the table or on the menu ? Africa’s role in a changing global order.”

Karim El Aynaoui is chair of the plenary session “‘Shared Prosperity’ The Imperative of Growth: The Role of Investments.” During this session, the role of investment in achieving growth in developing economies will be highlighted. There will be a particular emphasis on the link between social impact, accountability and investment.
