Rosa Whitaker was one of the hands-on architects of the historic African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), America’s first comprehensive trade law with African countries. AGOA provides duty -free access to the US market for essentially all African-made products. AGOA continues to be the center-piece of US-Africa economic policy.

William Gumede

He is the Founder & Chairperson of the Democracy Works Foundation (www.democracyworks.org.za).
He was former Senior Associate & Program Director, Africa Asia Centre, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
Previously he was Senior Associate Member & Oppenheimer Fellow, St. Antony’s College, Oxford University. He was Senior Research Fellow, London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE); and Course-Leader, New School University, New York.

Mpume Langa

She is the first African woman to be a Head of Private Banking in Absa. She is the Chairperson of Women in Business at Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She was a finalist in the Business Women's Association Regional Business Awards in 2013. Mpume holds a number qualifications from Marketing Diploma, BCom Finance and Strategic Management, MBA in Investment Management and Nexus Leadership From GIBS. She is also a qualified Image, Etiquette and Protocol Consultant from The European School of Protocol in Belgium and Colourworks International.
