Matheus Cavallari
Matheus Cavallari is currently Senior Adviser to the Executive Director at the World Bank Group. Previously, he served as Alternate Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and as Deputy Secretary for Economic Policy at the Ministry of Finance in the Brazilian government with focus on capital markets. He was also member of the Board of Auditors at Bank of Brazil-Investment Bank (BB-BI) and of the Board of Directors at Funding Authority for Studies and Projects (FINEP). Matheus also worked as economist for the Vice-President of the World Bank on different issues such as monetary policy and macro-prudential regulation in Emerging Markets, and macro-financial stability and public debt management in Africa. Between 2004 and 2011, he was partner of a hedge fund in Brazil, working as chief-economist, macro-strategist and portfolio manager. Matheus holds a M.A. Degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidade Catolica of Rio de Janeiro with focus on optimal fiscal and monetary policies.
