and African Development Bank
Jointly organized by the Global Development Network (GDN), OCP Policy Center, Economic Research Forum (ERF), GDN’s 16th Annual Global Development Conference is organized around the theme of Agriculture for Sustainable Growth: Challenges and Opportunities for a New ‘Green Revolution’, and will feature some of the work supported by GDN and its Regional Network Partners, as well as research studies from all over the world. The objective of the conference is to facilitate a better understanding on the nature and prospects of ‘green revolution’ globally, drawing on the insights from experiences around the world, to foster dialogue among young and experienced researchers, experts, practitioners and various government organizations who are working towards making their respective region more sustainable in agriculture and food security.
GDN’s flagship event is its three-day Annual Global Development Conference held in different countries across the globe. These conferences aim to connect developing countries researchers and students with the world’s most influential researchers, donors, corporate leaders and political figures on a common platform where they can interact with each other, share their research work and discuss the most pressing challenges in social and economic development.
The main theme of the Conference includes interrelated issues, each of them calling for a variety of disciplinary approaches. The competitive call for proposals will be structured around four main interrelated sub-themes:
-
Food security and nutrition;
-
Environmental challenges and natural resources management;
-
Economic, social and political transformations: effects and impact of agricultural development;
-
Financial and technological innovations: which new tools for the next ‘Green Revolution’?
The Conference will be organized around a competitive call for sessions and papers, in addition to our annual Global Development Awards and Medals Competition. It showcases the research and development work conducted by young researchers from developing countries through presentations, discussions and posters exhibition.
