by Uri Dadush, Visiting Fellow OCP Policy Center
This seminar consists of three modules. Its broad objective is to provide the participants with deep insights on the current state of the global economy and its economic and policy implications for emerging and developing countries. The first module will examine what is at stake with the ongoing large trade negotiations, offer an assessment of their potential impact on the world trade system, and identify the challenges and policy options for countries that are excluded from these processes. The second module will present a long term view of the global economy and the implications of its foreseeable evolution on global governance and development policy. The third module will discuss the current state of the economy, identify the short term risks, and delve into the policy options available for developing countries.
