Policy Center for the New South ranked 8th think tank in the MENA region
The Global Go-To Think Tanks Index 2018, released on January 31th 2019 by the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania (USA), ranks the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) as the 8th best think tank of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This is 1 rank higher than in 2017 and 5 higher than in 2016. Like 2017, PCNS continues to hold first place as Best Think Tank in Morocco and the Maghreb.
On the global level, PCNS is ranked 16th for the best conference with the “Atlantic Dialogues”, an annual meeting in Marrakech that has become a must.
PCNS is the 52th best think tank worldwide for its focus on energy and the 57th for its collaboration and exchanges with other institutes – such as the Italian Institute for International Studies (ISPI, Italy), Institut Montaigne, Institut Bruegel (Belgique), Royal United Services Institute (RUSI, United Kingdom), Brazilian Centre for International Relations (CEBRI, Brazil), Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI, Ethiopie), etc.
The Global Go To index (full report here) relies on the contributions of 3750 experts, journalists, researchers, public and private operators, to evaluate nearly 8000 think tanks globally. These results show an international recognition of the work done by PCNS, launched in 2014 in Rabat. With more than 200 publications yearly, the think tank gives insights from the South on global geostrategic and economic issues, on African matters and public policies.

Formerly known as OCP Policy Center, the PCNS is a Moroccan think tank launched in 2014 in Rabat, with 39 associate fellows from the South and the North. Through a Southern perspective on the main questions at stake for developing countries, it aims at helping strategic decisions processes through 4 research programs : agriculture, environment ans food security ; economics and social development ; raw material economics and finance ; geopolitics and international relations. www.ocppc.ma
