Call for Volunteers: 7th edition of the Atlantic Dialogues Conference
Through volunteering experiences, OCP Policy Center strives to offer highly motivated students and young professionals the opportunity of a direct immersion in major conferences organized with the Think Tank’s various international partners in Morocco. The volunteers are an integral part of the success of our events and get first-hand experience of high-level event organization on an operational level.
The OCP Policy Center is seeking volunteers to provide support at The Atlantic Dialogues, a major conference taking place December 13-15, 2018 in Marrakesh.
The Atlantic Dialogues is an annual high-level gathering of influential public -and private- sector leaders from around the Atlantic Basin for open, informal discussion on cross-regional issues. The Atlantic Dialogues will bring together over 300 high-level policymakers, business leaders, and opinion-shapers from Africa, the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe, for three days of open discussion that widens the traditional transatlantic conversation and addresses issues affecting the Atlantic Basin. The Atlantic Dialogues encourages a lively and informal exchange of views between young professionals and today’s leaders. The forum provides a unique platform for today and tomorrow’s leaders in the world of politics, business, and ideas to engage with senior policymakers, business and media representatives. It fosters a unique network across generations, continents, and cultures.
Description of tasks: The OCP Policy Center offers the opportunity for highly motivated students/young professionals to be an integral part of the success of the Atlantic Dialogues, and get first-hand experience of high-level political event organization on an operational level. Volunteers will work closely with OCP Policy Center’s staff in the run-up to the event and assist in a wide array of logistical and administrative tasks during the weekend of the conference. Volunteers are also asked to help with a variety of tasks during the weekend of the Forum including but not limited to: security, guest relations, production, transportation assistance, and media. Attendance at orientation and team meetings throughout the week is mandatory. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in parts of the official program.
Qualifications: Masters in Political science/ management; Fluency in English and preferably French or Arabic; excellent communication skills; strong interest in transatlantic issues; motivation to work flexible hours and handle logistical and administrative work, experience in event management is desirable but not essential. Volunteers are expected to be punctual, reliable, and behave in a professional manner throughout the duration of the conference and preparations. *If you have any preference and/or experience in one of the mentioned fields within the tasks description (security, guest relations, production, transportation assistance, and media), please indicate it in your cover letter.

Please note that this is a non-paid volunteer position for a period of approximately one week (December 8 – 15, 2018). The OCP Policy Center will provide all meals, however, we ask that you arrange your own accommodation during your stay in Marrakesh – a few accommodation options can be offered to a limited number of volunteers. Please, take into consideration the fact that we will conduct phone interviews with the pre-selected candidates, therefore, we’ll ask you to make sure your phone number is mentioned on your CV and cover letter.
