Workshop on food and nutrition security - Jointly organized by Global Development Network (GDN) & OCP Policy Center - Rabat, Morocco
The Global Development Network (GDN), in cooperation with OCP Policy Center and the IMF, organized a one-day closed academic workshop in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday, February; 27th 2014. It was chaired by the President of the GDN, Mr. Pierre Jacquet, and held in conjunction with the IMF—OCP Policy Center—the Center for Technology and Economic Development at New York University (CTED) conference on food price volatility that took place on February, 25th-26th 2014 in Rabat.
The objective of the workshop is to inform assembled researchers about research questions that are perceived to be most relevant in order to respond to current and future policy challenges with regards to food and nutrition security. The consultations, at the workshop, will help GDN design its new Global Research Project in this area. The background paper for the workshop has been prepared by Professor Per Pinstrup-Andersen of Cornell University, former Chairman of the Science Council of the Consultative Group on International Agriculture Research (CGIAR) and Director General of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).
