The COVID pandemic has had profound effects across endless sectors in the world, and extractive industries are not an exception. In this context, a roundtable to discuss how extractive industries can better serve as an engine for sustainable development in Africa is taking place. This roundtable is a first of six convened by the Secretary General of the United Nations. 

Karim El Aynaoui will be participating in the first panel wherein an overview of extractive industries in Africa will be discussed.
