Atlantic Dialogues 2015
Marrakech , Morocco
The Atlantic Dialogues, a joint initiative of The German Marshall Fund of the United States and the OCP Policy Center of Morocco, is an annual high-level gathering of influential public- and private-sector leaders from around the Atlantic Basin for open, informal discussion on cross-regional issues.
Under the theme “Atlantic Dialogues 2015: Prosperity and Security Across Latitudes,” the Atlantic Dialogues will bring together over 300 high-level policymakers, business leaders, and opinion-shapers from Africa, the Americas, the Caribbean, and Europe for three days of open discussion to widen the traditional transatlantic conversation and address issues affecting the Atlantic Basin. The Atlantic Dialogues encourages a lively and informal exchange of views between young professionals and today’s leaders. The forum provides a unique platform for current and future leaders in the world of politics, business, and ideas to engage with senior policymakers, and representatives from the media, and the private sector. It continues to build and strengthen a unique network across generations, continents, and cultures.
Format
The Atlantic Dialogues agenda examines transatlantic relations from a new perspective, encompassing the voices of Southern Atlantic leaders on cross-regional issues affecting the Atlantic Basin. It is a unique venue to discuss and debate Atlanticism outside the traditional north-north axis.
The Atlantic Dialogues is designed to create an environment that is conducive to facilitating concrete discussions that lead to actionable outcomes. Sessions are designed to promote frank, interactive, and informal discussion through a mix of plenary panels, smaller breakout sessions, and keynote addresses. The event will foster a network of individuals instilled with a new “mental map” of Atlantic issues, partnerships, and potential. This will be achieved through skillfully moderated discussions between the audience and expert discussants.
The Atlantic Dialogues provides an important forum for inclusive dialogue. The format does not allow for speeches during discussions, nor does it allow for formal or seminar-like presentations.
Emerging Leaders Program
Through a flagship Leadership program being currently discussed, The Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders and The Volunteer Program, OCP Policy Center is dedicated to connecting with rising leaders of future generations.
The German Marshall Fund of the United States and the OCP Policy Center are organizing the 2015 Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders Program, a unique opportunity for rising leaders, taking place October 28-November 1, 2015, in Marrakesh, Morocco. The program will precede and include The Atlantic Dialogues Conference.
