At Stanford, he initiated the first ever Stanford business course that brought top executives and students together to spur business strategies for emerging African markets. He is also directing a research project on the “Evolution of African Economies, Political Regimes, and Governance in the 21st Century.” He is the winner of the Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches Internationales (CERIUM) Award for Best International Ph.D. Dissertation and The African Network (TAN) Outstanding Visionary Leadership Award. As a frequent commentator on African affairs, he has also appeared in The New York Times.
