Dimakatso “Nono” Sekhoto

Nono studied financial accounting, planning and agricultural management. She is an Alumni of Pretoria University, Free State University, Gibs Goldman Sachs Entrepreneurship 10 000 Women program, MasterCard Foundation, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Oklahoma State University Fellows program and Korean Institute of Development Strategies. She sits on the national executive committee of African Farmers Association of SA (AFASA) and is the AFASA Youth Chairperson. She has developed various programs for the benefit of young farmers across South Africa and now has a large following of youth in. She runs various platforms where she volunteers her time to understand young farmers' challenges, provide mentorship, share knowledge and collaborate on finding support for them.

After seven years working in finance at Investec Bank and PSG Konsult, she joined her father in 2011 to co-manage their 2 100 hectares’ family commercial farm (producing dairy, beef cattle, sheep, apple orchard and planting grain). She established GrowthShoot, a company focused on establishing viable business models for start-up agripreneurs by coordinating access to farmer support, in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
