Alba-Ulloa is a member of the Anahuac Research Center on International Relations, and the Centre d’Analyse des Différends et leurs Modes de Solution, Faculté Jean Monnet, the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations; the Mexican Association of International Studies. She is chair of the Foreign Policy Committee, the International Studies Association and has been co-editor of the International Organizations of the Compendium Project since 2014. She has taught at the Université de Paris –XI, Faculté Jean Monnet, Centre d’études Diplomatiques et Stratégiques in Paris, and at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico.
