Emergence in an Evolving Geopolitical Context: Intersecting Views from Morocco and Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, Ethiopie

The Center for Research, Dialogue and Cooperation and OCP Policy Center are co-organizing the first edition of their Strategic Dialogues; a platform of debate and exchange on geopolitical issues pertaining to Ethiopia and Morocco under the theme of “Emergence in an Evolving Geopolitical Context: Intersecting Views from Morocco and Ethiopia” on February 10,2017 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The aim is to establish an ambitious, yet timely, platform for policy dialogue between Ethiopia and Morocco on topics of common interests.

Prominent experts from think tanks, research institutes and academia, as well as selected professionals in policymaking will meet in an intellectual, interactive setting to share their perspectives on geopolitics and security and, most importantly, generate valuable outcomes and ideas, summarized in a Policy Report that will benefit both participants as well as interested external stakeholders.

The collaboration between CDRC and OCP Policy Center will constitute the main pillar of this platform as well as the driving force for content-based dialogue that can serve as a catalyst for analytical output.

The seminar will be composed of two panels with two sessions each which will span for an hour and 15 minutes to cover the themes below. Each of the sessions will have speakers from both Ethiopia and Morocco to debate on the subject matter while the author(s) of the paper will give input on their initial research to ensure analytically sound discussions and gather further materials for the final publication. The conference will end with a high-level policy panel.
