On the occasion of the publication of the International Jobs Report first quarterly, a major result of a joint collaboration between the International Monetary Fund (IMF), The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and OCP Policy Center, the Think Tank hosted a presentation on Wednesday February 25th at its headquarters in Rabat, to discuss the main outcomes and perspectives of this research endeavor.

Advanced Training in Economic Analysis and Management: Module 2 - Understanding Labor Markets

 

A travers cette formation, OCP Policy Center vise à apporter une contribution au développement des capacités d’analyse et de gestion économique des participants et à approfondir les débats afin de promouvoir davantage la qualité du processus de prise de décision en matière de politique économique. Le présent programme propose une formation approfondie de six modules, répartis sur six mois et couvrant un volume horaire de 180 heures de cours.

Cette formation, qui sera assurée par des professeurs et praticiens de haut niveau dont l’expertise couvre différents domaines de la science économique, sera sanctionnée par un certificat délivré aux participants par l’équipe des formateurs. Le contenu du programme essaie de respecter un équilibre entre la théorie et la politique et offrira aux bénéficiaires l’opportunité de se munir des connaissances et techniques d’analyse requises pour une carrière dans les métiers du conseil et de gestion économique.

Call for Papers : International Conference on Food Price Volatility : Causes and Challenges (Jointly organised with the IMF and the NYU) - Rabat, Morocco

 

On February 25 - 26, 2014, the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund jointly with the OCP Policy Center and the Center for Technology and Economic Development at New York University will sponsor an international conference on “Food Price Volatility: Causes and Challenges", which will take place in Rabat, Morocco. The program, to be organized by Rabah Arezki (IMF), Karim El Aynaoui (OCP Policy Center), Prakash Loungani (IMF), and Yaw Nyarko (NYU), will consist of about twelve papers with formal discussants for each paper.
Papers from the conference will be considered for a special issue of the Oxford Economic Papers, subject to the Journal’s normal refereeing process.

International Conference on Food Price Volatility: Causes and Challenges (Jointly organised with the IMF and the NYU) - Rabat, Morocco

Organized by the IMF’s Research Department, OCP Policy Center,
and the Center for Technology and Economic Development at New York University

The conference aims to stimulate discussion about the causes and socio-economic challenges of food price volatility. The conference will tackle both ‘micro’ issues such as drivers of food prices and policies to ensure food price security, as well as ‘macro’ issues (e.g., the appropriate monetary policy response to food and fuel price fluctuations). Leading academics and policy experts will make presentations followed by general discussions. In addition to these presentations, the conference will also feature several policy panels with high level policy makers and two keynote speakers.
